Privacy Policy

StudyStacks is a free study-guide site built and run by one high schooler. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site collects and what happens to it. There's no ad network, no analytics tracker, and nothing here is sold to anyone.

What we collect

• If you sign in with Google or GitHub: your name and email address, as provided by that account. We never see or store your password — sign-in is handled entirely by Google/GitHub.
• Your session is kept in a browser cookie so you stay signed in. It expires automatically after 30 days.
• If you submit a guide request or a "notify me" signup on the Coming Soon cards: whatever you type into that form (class name, notes, and an email address if you choose to provide one).
• If you use the AI Study Helper: the question you type is sent to an AI model (via Cloudflare Workers AI) to generate a reply. It is not saved anywhere and is not linked to your account.

What we don't do

• No ads, no ad trackers, no analytics scripts (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.) — there simply aren't any on this site.
• No selling, renting, or sharing your data with third parties for marketing.
• No payment processing — StudyStacks is free and doesn't collect any billing information.

Where it lives

StudyStacks runs on Cloudflare Workers. Your session and any submitted requests are stored in Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare, as our host, may process standard connection logs as part of running the service — that's covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy, separate from anything StudyStacks itself collects.

Your choices

• You can sign out at any time, which clears your session cookie.
• You can ask us to delete your account data by emailing us (see below) — since sign-in is just an email/name tied to a session, this is quick to do.
• You never have to sign in to use the study guides, flashcards, or AI helper — an account is only required to save quiz progress.

A note on age

StudyStacks is built for high school students studying for Regents exams. We don't knowingly collect more than what's needed to sign in (name and email via Google/GitHub) and we don't run any targeted advertising. If you're a parent or guardian with questions about your child's account, reach out and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If anything meaningful changes about what StudyStacks collects, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
